On February 19th, the winners for the 9th Annual Soompi
Awards were finally announced! The voting period started on the 24th of
December last year and ended on the 13th of January this year. The winners of
the award-giving body were determined via 60% fan votes and 40% Soompi Music
Charts Rankings.
SHINee won the Best Music Video Award for ‘Dream Girl’ and
also bagged one of the three major trophies, the Artist of the Year Award
(Daesang)! Once again, the five-member idol group proved their immense
popularity in the music scene. 2013 had been a busy year for the five shining
members of SHINee and it was great to see all of their hard work paying off.
Fans from all over the world showed their support by earnestly voting for
SHINee, leading to the boys’ victory in bagging two great awards!
SHINee's main vocalist, Jonghyun, thanked the fans with a
brief speech, "Hello, this is Jonghyun from SHINee! We are truly, truly
grateful that you fans, have personally chosen us for Best Music Video and
Artist of the Year, for Soompi Awards 2013," He then ended his monologue
with a promise for this year, "We will see you guys in 2014, better and
improved!"
