The guys of SHINee are trying out solo projects and member
Jonghyun now has his very own No. 1 to show for his venture.
The singer/composer's Base: The First Mini Album EP rises to
No. 1 on Billboard's World Albums chart after debuting at No. 2 last week. Base
also marks the first No. 1 for a K-pop act on World Albums in 2015.
The release is led by the singles "Crazy (Guilty
Pleasure)," that features rapper IRON, and "Deja-Boo," featuring
hip-hop singer/rapper Zion.T. Both tracks make bows on the World Digital Songs
chart with "Crazy" marking the chart's highest debut this week at No.
12 while "Deja-boo" lands at No. 21.
While fans knew Jonghyun as a singer with a knack for
ballads, the 24-year-old recently expressed his desire to branch out from the
ballad style and eyed genres and collaborators he was personally inspired by
for his eclectic EP that ranges from booming R&B to slick disco dance-pop.
In addition to Zion.T and IRON, Base also features Korean rock

Ace: The First Mini Album EP. The set peaked at No. 2 on World Albums on the

Meanwhile, Key took a different route in collaborating with
INFINITE member Woohyun for a duo project called ToHeart last March. Their
debut EP, The 1st Mini Album, peaked at No. 8 on World Albums on the chart
dated March 29, 2014.
