[NEWS] SHINee's Jonghyun Rises to No. 1 on Billboard's World Albums Chart With 'Base' EP
The guys of SHINee are trying out solo projects and member
Jonghyun now has his very own No. 1 to show for his venture.
The singer/composer's Base: The First Mini Album EP rises to
No. 1 on Billboard's World Albums chart after debuting at No. 2 last week. Base
also marks the first No. 1 for a K-pop act on World Albums in 2015.
The release is led by the singles "Crazy (Guilty
Pleasure)," that features rapper IRON, and "Deja-Boo," featuring
hip-hop singer/rapper Zion.T. Both tracks make bows on the World Digital Songs
chart with "Crazy" marking the chart's highest debut this week at No.
12 while "Deja-boo" lands at No. 21.
While fans knew Jonghyun as a singer with a knack for
ballads, the 24-year-old recently expressed his desire to branch out from the
ballad style and eyed genres and collaborators he was personally inspired by
for his eclectic EP that ranges from booming R&B to slick disco dance-pop.
In addition to Zion.T and IRON, Base also features Korean rock
singer-songwriter Younha.
Base marks the first solo No. 1 for any SHINee member on a
Billboard chart, but two of his band mates have also done well on their own
too.
Last summer, SHINee's Taemin made his solo debut with his
Ace: The First Mini Album EP. The set peaked at No. 2 on World Albums on the
chart dated Sept. 6, 2014 while the music video to its lead single,
"Danger," was the most viewed K-pop video in America in its release
month.
Meanwhile, Key took a different route in collaborating with
INFINITE member Woohyun for a duo project called ToHeart last March. Their
debut EP, The 1st Mini Album, peaked at No. 8 on World Albums on the chart
dated March 29, 2014.

Lining up for MBC recording of Crazy~ Its awesome seeing so
many Taemin, Onew, Minho, Key & Jonghyun lockscreens at Jonghyun recs OT5♡
Jonghyun was so so so cute. The energy was amazing for the
recording. Jonghyun was really perky and cute and happy and sweet
Jonghyun was standing just off stage and the SHAWols all
around me were freaking out and squealing: wah pretty, so pretty, preeeeeettyyyyyy
Jonghyun was about to rehearse & realized we didnt have
a fanchant and he was like: ah stay oh its a dejaboo...thats the fanchant now
^.^;;;
But the SHAWols had their act together today and made
fanchants on the spot. They sounded so good!!
Jonghyun was cutely complaining that doing the rap was hard.
Said the song was ok but rapping is hard
Fan yelled Jjong can rap as well as Zion. T and he stopped
and looked kind of conflicted for a second and then said:....감사합나당
super aegyo~y
I think....Jonghyun was extra tired today because he was
being kind of cutey and he usually tries to be super cool keke
Jjong told us we worked hard and that we should go eat as he
was leaving ^.^
When Jonghyun did the little butt wiggle in the choreo fans
lost their s***. Everytime he raps we lost it. SHAWols were just crazy happy.
Ah Jonghyun is definitely a method actor. For his Crazy recs
he's so serious and in the zone and for Deja-boo his manner is super cute ㅠ.ㅠ

Deja-Boo recording for MuCore is finished! Jonghyun was really cute and
perky this morning.
Before the recording started Jonghyun was standing to the side
practicing the dance and hand movements all in his little world.
Jonghyun was coaching the fans at the start on what to fanchant since
there isn't an official fanchant made. But Shawols know how to make do
Jonghyun was really focused talking to a camera man about where to look
and angles. All the fans were aweing but he kept focused.
One take he did a V sign really cute like. The rest of ths takes he
didn't do it.
In the first run through Jonghyun didn't realize the music would be
starting so he fumbled to flip his mic and begin. They did a reset thou

[NEWS] 150110 Zion.T compliments SHINee's Jonghyun for his leadership and professionalism
On January 8, SHINee's Jonghyun appeared at the press
conference for his first ever solo album, 'BASE', and expressed his gratitude
for Zion.T and rookie rapper Iron for featuring in his album.
When the idol was asked about if there were anything
interesting that happened while working on his album, Jonghyun answered,
"It was hard to grasp Zion.T's ideas [for the album]. I was thankful that
he participated with such passion. I
tried to capture his charming voice and breath. Before I knew it, everyone was
infected by his unique way of talking."
Zion.T also revealed that he hasn't worked with many idols,
but he felt as though Jonghyun would actively work on his album. He said,
"I learned how he leads, and there was not much that I got involved in.
Jonghyun must have been busy from all the performances in Japan, but he would
leave me with the blank parts after finishing his part. It was really nice. It
was fun working with someone with experience and know-how."
Jonghyun also complimented rapper Iron, who featured in his
song,"Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)". The idol said, "It was the first
time meeting with Iron, so I thought there would be some power struggle. And
since I debuted first, I was worried about it more, but when I first heard him
rapping, I okayed it on the first recording. I think he is the best in showing
[himself] through music. He only had rapped once, but everyone was so shocked
that they started to clap [after]."
When hearing Jonghyun compliment him on his rapping, Iron
happily responded, "I'm happy that I'm receiving compliments. Hyung, I
love you."
