SHINee’s Onew along with label mate, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun
are in talks to take on the lead role of SM Entertainment’s musical adaption of
the popular West End production, Singin’ in the Rain.
Singin’ in the Rain was originally a movie produced in 1952

Entertainment Culture & Contents (SM C&C), bought the rights of said
musical and are now in the works of producing it.
A representative of SM Entertainment stated that, “Both
idols have an extraordinary passion for musicals. In their previous ventures
(into musicals), they were well known to be hard working during rehearsals
despite their jam-packed schedules. They have great talent and they show
effortless skills.”
SHINee’s leader, Onew has appeared in two musicals over in
the past few years; he first made his musical debut performance as Jubong in
the 2010 production of Brothers Were Brave and also took on the lead role of
Drew in the hit rock and roll musical, Rock of Ages.
